With Tropical Storm Ida likely to produce hazardous travel across the Southeast, consider these options if traveling to Pensacola:

  • Use caution driving through coastal or low-lying areas.
  • Seek alternate routes if necessary. Even Interstate highways may temporarily close until localized flooding recedes. 
  • Anticipate fuel shortages or delays and fill up sooner than usual.
  • Monitor published road condition reports and closures:

PCC’s Emergency Management Team has a comprehensive, proactive plan ready for fast implementation. The Emergency Operations Center can be activated quickly when needed. Team members represent all campus service departments and are committed to student comfort, safety, and care.

Emergency management personnel are trained to operate under the National Incident Management System using Incident Command System protocol. Working relationships with law enforcement and public safety agencies are well established.
